Member Services
Our services include:
- Member newsletter—Morgan County REA has a responsibility to keep members informed about events which affect your electric service, the cost of service, and other developments or articles of interest about your cooperative. An MCREA monthly newsletter is published inside the Colorado Country Life magazine that is mailed to your address.
- Update—In the event your board of directors needs to inform the membership about a decision or proposal, an Update publication will be mailed to all members.
- MCREA maintains a website for convenient electronic access to information about services, youth programs, safety, new construction, energy efficiency programs, and forms for various applications. There are also links to an energy library, kids’ page, Steffes Corporation and Marathon Water Heaters.
- Energy efficiency credits for installation of
- electric heating systems
- electric water heaters
- electric motors
- Whole house surge protection that is beneficial all of the following:
- entertainment electronics
- permanently installed appliances
- computer systems
- Voluntary green power rate to purchase renewable energy produced from the natural sources of the sun, wind, or water
- Energy audits for
- billing questions
- increasing energy efficiency
- Electric thermal storage (ETS) heaters for the whole house or individual rooms. ETS utilizes the time-of-use rate for residential consumers.
- Life-time warranty electric water heaters manufactured by Marathon Corporation
- Load management options.
- "High Voltage" electric safety programs suitable for schools or public events.
- Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp—an all-expenses-paid week-long camp near Steamboat Springs in July of each year. Applicants must be high school sophomores or juniors and dependents of an MCREA member. Look for more details on our website.
- National Cooperative Youth Tour—an all-expenses-paid trip to ashington, D.C. in June of each year. Applicants must be 16 by June 1 and must be dependents of an MCREA member. Application includes an essay requirement. Information and application packets are available from high school counselors, on our website and in our office.
- Scholarships awarded to high school graduating seniors chosen from applicants whose parents or guardians are MCREA members. Look for more details on our website.
- Scholarships for persons attending lineworker school. Information from MCREA office.
- Support of community events and economic development in our service area.
- Community meeting room which can be rented for civic gatherings.
- Outdoor picnic area with tables and large grassy area which can be rented for social or civic gatherings.
